The Gate School Escape Room Project

The project is based on the creation and implementation of an educational escape room in the field of the English language. “The Gate School Escape Room” is an educational proposal designed and implemented in a secondary educational centre (Colegio Safa-Grial) located in the city of Valladolid of the Community of Castilla y León.

This project is a part of the “Looking @ Learning” project which aims to provide space and support for cross-sectoral cooperation of professionals in formal and non-formal education on the innovation of education in order to create contemporary and successful learning environments for young people in their educational process. Eduesc@perooms project aimed to develop a practical and innovative educational tool based on escape rooms to be used in a broad range of formal and non-formal educational fields.

EscapED

EscapED is an Escape Room experience for educational purposes employing mystery and problem solving to develop valuable skills as an intitive of the GameChangers Programme (The GameChangers programme focuses on the design and implementation of playful learning experiences, promoting the emergence of a more playful, exploratory, creative culture in everyday academic contexts. GameChangers is both an open game design course and community, co-created by the Disruptive Media Learning Lab of Coventry University together with staff and students interested in exploring the opportunities of creating games as a medium for both expression and learning.)

Breakout Boxes: Educational Escape Rooms

Instead of trying to break OUT of a locked room, Breakout Boxes: Educational Escape Rooms make students try to break into a box with a series of locks on it. For a breakout box, the teacher hides the clues around a classroom each of which, when correctly solved, opens one of the locks on the box.

Science Detectives Mystery Room Escape is an online escape room that was produced in partnership with the Arizona Science Education Collaborative (ASEC) and funded by ASU Women & Philanthropy)

HSJA Student-Created Digital Escapes 

Digital breakouts created by the 8th-grade students related to the books on WWII. As a part of the project, students had to attempt to solve each other’s digital breakouts once they were completed.
